  • The candidate has learned about the origins of continuous improvement and how they relate to general best practices in business administration.
  • The candidate has learned how to deploy Lean and Six Sigma in problem solving.
  • The candidate has learned how to implement tools and techniques to deploy strategic directions for initiatives.
  • The candidate understands the roles and responsibilities for Lean Six Sigma projects and how to determine conflicts of interest and how to deal with them.
  • The candidate has learned best practices in change management. 

II: Organizational Process Management and Measures

  • The candidate is able to use benchmarking, define a process and set performance measures.
  • The candidate has learned how to implement a system of measuring process performance throughout the company on a daily basis.  
  • The candidate is able to distinguish between single and multiple process problems and has learned techniques to map them.

III: Team Management

  • The candidate understands the components and techniques used in managing teams and the phases in the deployment of team success.
  • The candidate has learned various techniques on coaching and group dynamics challenges.  

IV: Define

  • The candidate is able to translate customer requirements to CTQs and collect data both for continuous and quality variables.
  • The candidate understands the elements in starting up a project and knows different models to start change and track these from idea to handover (DMAIC, A3, Kaizen).  

V: Measure

  • The candidate is able to measure the CTQ for different kinds of data in order to determine the process performance in relation with the value stream.
  • The candidate has learned both quantitative and qualitative techniques to determine the current situation.
  • The candidate has learned how to determine samples, use sampling and validate the data.
  • The candidate has learned to determine the variation caused by the measurement system or the attributes in this system.
  • The candidate is able to determine the process performance both short term and long term.
  • The candidate has learned techniques to determine the process performance under different circumstances using either black box techniques or time-weighted charts.

VI: Analyze

  • The candidate has learned to determine possible causes for problems and applying different techniques in reducing the possible causes to the vital few.
  • The candidate has learned how to determine correlation and regression and how to analyze the variance.
  • The candidate has learned several techniques to determine for different kinds of data if they relate to each other (Hypothesis tests, non-parametric tests, Chi-square tests, ANOVA etc).
  • The candidate is able to to identify and interpret the 7 classic wastes and apply techniques to create continuous flow.
  • The candidate is able to use gap analysis tools to create a future state map. 

VII: Improve

  • The candidate knows how to use visual management and tools in Lean management in order to implement an improved process.
  • The candidate knows how to use Statistical Process Control and merge this into the Lean Daily Management.
  • The candidate knows how the connect the Lean Daily Management with the strategic goals and cascading them at the different levels.
  • The candidate is able to define and apply design of experiments (DOE) principles, and distinguish among the various types of experiments.
  • The candidate is able to apply various Lean tools and techniques to eliminate waste and reduce cycle time.
  • The candidate is able to understand how to implement an improved process and how to analyze and interpret risk studies (FMEA).  

VIII: Control

  • The candidate is able to apply, use, and analyze the various statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
  • The candidate is able to understand total productive maintenance (TPM) and visual factory concepts.
  • The candidate is able to develop control plans and use various tools to maintain and sustain improvements.
  • The candidate understands the concept of continuous improvement and is able to translate this both to the structure and the culture of the organisation. 
  • The candidate understands the fundamentals on continuous learning and knows how to apply them in teams.

IX: Design For Six Sigma (DFFS) Framework and Methodologies

  • The candidate understands how to determine the critical factors (CTx) in both improvement and innovation.
  • The candidate distinguishes between DMADV and IDOV and is able to apply different techniques like QFD and DoE.
